Rotating Desktop Organizer (Winter 2012)
The Rotating Desktop Organizer is this Winter's woodshop project. Students learn about tools, design
and assembly. Woodshop is fun, rewarding and educational. Participants take pride in creating
something out of wood and feel a sense of accomplishment as they craft their project and watch
it develop into something recognizable. During the process they are both learning and having fun.
We teach basic woodshop skills with a focus on safety. Children learn how to saw, glue, measure,
drill, nail, follow directions, think for themselves and design. Everyone remembers woodshop!
This session we are building a Rotating Desktop Organizer. It has 360° rotation with 5
compartments, including a large deep one in the center, an optional shelf for note pads and an
optional screw for holding tape. It is a fun project to build. Accessories and extra detail
can be added if time allows. It is a wonderful show piece and fun to use too!
